Implementation of new technology often changes business processes – in fact, it should because business processes should become more automated and smoother. A healthcare client was experiencing this type of change as it implemented a Lawson Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) which included Human Capital Management and converted from a mainframe HR system.
Consultants with HR Logistics facilitated the evaluation of current business processes and supported the client’s internal HR staff in creating new processes and daily audits to ensure business process optimization including full documentation and user training. The results of the HRL engagement was customized user training allowing the client’s HR staff to understand and adapt to the new technology more quickly because new processes were thoroughly documented allowing users’ easy access to instructions and help text. The staff became comfortable with the new HR technology and quickly acclimated to the new processes. In addition, processes were consistent throughout their application improving the organization’s ability to train new users more easily and familiarize them with procedures.
