Things We Like
Here at HRL, we take our work seriously and we work hard for our clients. But we know everyone needs a little fun in their lives too. So we wanted to create a fun place in our virtual web space to share with you things we encounter that we like because they are useful, educational, interesting or just plain fun. Perhaps you’ll discover a new tool, maybe they will make you giggle, perhaps they will stretch your mind. But most of all, we hope you enjoy “the things we like.”
And if you discovered something you like – tell us about it so we can share more Things We Like!

What is it? A reality check that indeed – life actually is good.
Why do we like it? It’s very easy to get sidetracked in the day-to-day hustle of work and life. Life is good reminds us to slow down and live life in the moment. They sell little things (bumper stickers, mugs, t-shirts). And if you like the message, when you are drinking your first cup of coffee (or tea, or water, or whatever you prefer in the morning) then it is a great thing to start your day off with.

What is it? Joboroo is an applicant tracking system that allows you to monitor your job postings on various job boards in one place. You can post one job on multiple sites at one time. The system will walk you through the unique questions for each job board, and when an applicant wants to apply to your job, they are directed to the Joboroo site to complete the application. The cost to use Joboroo is dependent on the job boards you use. Meaning, if you want to post a job on Monster, you only pay what you would normally pay for posting a job on Monster.
Why do we like it? We like Joboroo because it helps to streamline the applicant tracking process. At HRL, we are all about utilizing technology to streamline processes, and we can’t argue with the price to easily manage the system.

What is it? Robyn O’Brien, a former wall-street woman turned mother of four, began researching food production in the US after one of her children had a serious allergic reaction to food they had eaten. She turned her discoveries into a book called The Unhealthy Truth to help educate others about the US food supply.
Why do we like it? This book will challenge you to take charge of what and how you feed yourself and those you love. In one interview she does, she said “the more I learned, the more I wanted to unlearn.” While it is scary to learn about the unregulated chemicals put into our food supply, this book supports education of the US population to take control and demand healthy food.

What is it? Website of actor Jeff Bridges.
Why do we like it? Well for one, it is incredibly easy to get lost in the site. Just as I am trying to write this blurb about it I already spent 20 minutes watching the videos and following the links (oops). It catches your attention because of the beautiful images they use instead of just regular links.

Warning – do not visit this site if you have a looming deadline because you are guaranteed to miss it. And according to the disclaimer above, we are not responsible for time wasted at this site

What is it? Find money owed to you!
Why do we like it? This is a free, government sponsored web site to find money that is owed to you. Skeptical? So was I. But both I and a close friend found insurance policy refunds dating back over 10 years! It’s free and you can search on multiple states, though I’m not sure all states are available. And don’t forget to search on all your names ladies – married and single. I highly recommend it!
