Organizational Development and Strategy

Organizational Development can sometimes be a foggy, imprecise process with uncertain results.
At HR Logistics, we addressed this issue by developing a  proprietary tool and methodology that
measures the leadership gap and supports your organizational development and strategy through
concise, clear and objective analysis.  Using our methodology, you can assess your organization at
a department level, a team level, or an executive level and identify areas of strength and
weakness.  More importantly, you can prioritize your weaknesses to ensure you develop a strategic
plan that addresses your leadership gaps and moves your organizational leadership from "good to
great."  Competencies and tools we provide to our clients include:

  • Organizational Health Assessment© (OHA) (Phase I)
  • Leadership and Organizational Excellence Strategic Planning (Phase I)
  • Leadership Training and Development (Phase II)
  • Change Management (Phase II)
  • Communications (Phase II)

Phase I uses our proprietary "Organizational Health Assessment"©  to measure the strength of the
focus group(s) - team, departmental, or executive.  The results of the assessment reveal objective
data which facilitate the development of your strategic leadership development plan.  We work with
you, using the results of the assessment, to develop a plan of action that is uniquely yours.

Phase II involves the implementation of your strategic leadership development plan.  The
implementation is also customized to your organization, your strengths and weaknesses, and your
timetable and challenges.  We have worked with you to design the plan and now bring that
knowledge and familiarity to the implementation process.

Our experience with multiple transformation projects has also taught us the importance of blending
training, change, and communications into any project that will impact the organizational
landscape.  During Phase II, we work with you to design the appropriate change and communication
plans to ensure the focus groups are supported throughout the transformation process.

Finally, on the one year anniversary of the original OHA, we conduct a second OHA to measure the
ROI on your organizational development project.  The continuous measurement provides you the
feedback you need to determine the effectiveness of the implementation and areas which may
require additional attention or follow up to ensure ROI.

    Case Study

    Need:  A successful school had
grown to be one of the nation's
    premier educational institutions for
    the treatment of autism.  However,
over its eleven year history, the
    school had outgrown its
    organizational structure and
    needed to realign its management
    practices with its mission.

    Action:  Using HR Logistics' OHA,
    our consultant designed a
    management retreat to assess the
    health of the school's management
    practices.  Participation was
composed of the Board of Directors,
    the Executive Team, and the
    Program Managers.  In addition,
    the management retreat included
    sessions on good management,
    breakout sessions for individual
    group discussion, and educational
    sessions on leadership
    development - combined with the
results of the OHA and all delivered
within one day to the attendees.

    Results:  The School's
    management team benefited from
    an increased awareness of the
    strengths and disciplines of good
    management and leadership with
    specific, quantitative measurement
of the School's performance in the
    areas of leadership, workforce
    development, clarity and
    transparency, trust, and discipline.
    Armed with this knowledge, the
school could embark on a specific,
    focused program to improve its
    management practices and
    operational efficiency.
